UNHCR Tree Plantation to Promote Sustainable Environmental Practices and Mitigate Climate Change

On 17th March, a tree plantation activity was sponsored by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in collaboration with the Tehreek Khalq Foundation (TKF). The event was held with the aim of promoting sustainable environmental practices and raising awareness about the importance of trees in mitigating climate change.

A total of 700 trees were donated to the BUITEMS. The tree species selected for the plantation were indigenous to the region and included a variety of fruit and shade trees. The event was attended by representatives from TKF, BUITEMS, and ICRMS, as well as students and faculty members of the university.

The tree plantation activity is part of a broader initiative by UNHCR to promote environmental sustainability and support the communities it serves. Through such initiatives, UNHCR aims to promote sustainable practices and protect the environment, while also improving the well-being and livelihoods of refugees and host communities.
