“Divided by Borders, United by Sports: ICRMS-led T20 Cricket Match for Afghan Refugee Students”

As emphasized by a Persian proverb, a healthy and sound mind is consistently associated with a healthy body. On December 11, 2023, ICRMS organized an exhilarating T20 Cricket match for Afghan refugee students enrolled in the Second Crash Course at BUITEMS Cricket Ground. The primary objective of this sports initiative was to promote the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of the students, fostering teamwork and a spirit of sportsmanship.

Furthermore, the sports activity aimed to channel the students’ energy into a constructive and enjoyable pursuit, ultimately emphasizing a crucial aspect of sports: the promotion of harmony and inclusivity for Afghan refugee students within the host community. The event provided the students with a day out alongside ICRMS staff and an enthusiastic audience from both the Afghan refugee and host communities. Both teams showcased impressive sportsmanship and performance throughout the match, concluding the activity on a positive note of celebration shared by students and the host community.
