Second Exposure Visit of Noor High School, Quetta to BUITEMS 2025

The International Center for Refugee and Migration Studies (ICRMS) organized the Second Exposure Visit Session on April 24, 2025, for students from Noor High School at Balochistan University of Information Technology and Management Sciences (BUITEMS), Quetta. BUITEMS and ICRMS staff warmly welcomed the students and school faculty as they gathered in the Pink Hall.

The session commenced with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, moderated by Ms. Fatima from ICRMS. This was followed by a video presentation introducing the vision, mission, and activities of the International Center for Refugee and Migration Studies. Mr. Salar Khan, Deputy Director of Admissions and Academics at BUITEMS, delivered an insightful session covering the university’s admission process, available scholarships, and financial aid opportunities for Afghan refugees and nationals.

Shortly afterward, Prof. Dr. Zahid Rauf, Director of ICRMS, joined the session to welcome the visiting students and faculty. He shared motivational remarks, highlighting BUITEMS’ inclusive academic environment and encouraging refugee students to pursue higher education opportunities. Dr. Zahid Rauf also elaborated on BUITEMS’ commitment to supporting marginalized communities, especially through ICRMS platform. Following the session, a group photo was taken with Prof. Dr. Zahid Rauf and Mr. Salar Khan alongside the students. A total of 60 students participated in the session, including 18 males and 42 females.

The students then embarked on a guided exposure visit across the BUITEMS campus. The visit was facilitated by Mr. Nisar Ahmed, Ms. Laraib Ayoub, Mr. Waseem, Mr. Ameen, Ms. Fatima Ali, and Mr. Firdos Khan from ICRMS. At the National Incubation Center (NIC), the students were briefed on the startup incubation process, with an emphasis on opportunities specifically designed for Afghan refugee youth. The tour continued at the BUITEMS Main Library, where the Librarian introduced the students to the extensive academic resources, including physical collections and digital access materials.  And than Sports Complex, where Mr. Nisar Ahmed, Media and Communication Associate at ICRMS, provided an overview of the university’s sports facilities, including the fitness gym, squash courts, swimming pool, and the multipurpose sports hall.

The exposure visit concluded. After the tour, the students were served lunch as a gesture of hospitality. Once the meal concluded, they were safely escorted back to their school, bringing the exposure visit to a successful and memorable close.
