Since its inception in 2017 with the backing of UNHCR, the International Center for Refugees and Migration Studies (ICRMS) at BUITEMS has been a guiding light for displaced communities. Through dynamic research, impactful lectures, and awareness initiatives, we empower Afghan refugees in Pakistan, tackling identity crises, educational barriers, and social stigmas. Aligned with UNHCR principles, our mission fosters interdisciplinary research on human mobility, from grassroots to global scales. Our vision? ICRMS Internship Program for Afghan Refugee Graduates

The ICRMS Internship Program for Graduate Afghan Refugees is a strategic initiative designed to provide valuable opportunities for Afghan refugees who have recently graduated to enhance their practical skills and gain exposure to real-world work environments. Through this program, ICRMS aims to offer 05 internships, placing participants in various organizations in Quetta city for a duration of three months.

Objectives:

  • Provide valuable opportunities for Afghan refugee fresh graduates to enhance their practical skills.
  • Facilitate exposure to real-world work environments in Pakistan.
  • Offer financial support to cover basic expenses during the internship period.
  • Enhance employability and build a professional network for Afghan refugee participants.
  • Foster professional skill development and prepare participants for successful transitions into the workforce.

Program Benefits:

  • Practical Skills Development: Interns will gain hands-on experience and develop practical skills relevant to their chosen field.
  • Employability Enhancement: Participation in the program will enhance interns’ employability and increase their chances of securing future employment.
  • Professional Networking: Interns will have the opportunity to build a valuable professional network, which can be beneficial for their career advancement.
  • Transition Support: Participants will receive support and guidance to ensure a smooth transition into the workforce upon completion of the program.
  • Duration: The internship program spans over three months, allowing interns to gain substantial experience in their chosen field.
  • Financial Support: Interns will receive a monthly stipend of 32,000 PKR to cover basic expenses, ensuring their ability to participate in the program without financial constraints.
  • Placement: Interns will be strategically placed in various organizations to gain practical skills, enhance their employability, and build a valuable professional network.
  • Holistic Development: The program focuses on holistic development, including professional skill enhancement and preparing participants for successful transitions into the workforce.

  • Media and Marketing Intern:
    • Preferred Degree: Graduates with a degree in Marketing, Communications, Media Studies, or related fields will be considered.
    • Skills Required: Strong written and verbal communication skills, creativity, ability to think strategically, familiarity with social media platforms, and digital marketing tools.
  • IT Intern:
    • Preferred Degree: Graduates with a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields will be considered.
    • Skills Required: Basic knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networking, problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, familiarity with operating systems, and software applications.
  • Finance Intern:
    • Preferred Degree: Graduates with a degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related fields will be considered.
    • Skills Required: Strong analytical and numerical skills, understanding of financial principles and accounting practices, proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and other financial software.
  • Office Management Intern:
    • Preferred Degree: Graduates with a degree in Business Administration, Office Management, or related fields will be considered.
    • Skills Required: Organizational skills, attention to detail, proficiency in office software such as Microsoft Office suite, strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Reporting Intern:
    • Preferred Degree: Graduates with a degree in Journalism, English, Statistics, or related fields will be considered.
    • Skills Required: Research skills, ability to gather and analyze data, strong writing and editing skills, proficiency in reporting tools, and software.
  • Must be an Afghan Refugee with POR Card
  • Must have a graduation degree from an HEC recognized Institute. (16 years)
  • Must have English and Computer Proficiency.
