The International Center for Refugee and Migration Studies (ICRMS) successfully conducted its fourth Career Counselling Session on 29th May 2025 at School No. 31 in Loralai, continuing its outreach efforts to support refugee students in planning their educational and professional futures. The session began with Mr. Nisar Ahmed, Media and Communication Associate at ICRMS, who welcomed the students and introduced the Center’s mission and scope of work. He shared that ICRMS was established in 2017 with support from UNHCR and is based at BUITEMS, one of Balochistan’s leading academic institutions. Mr. Nisar Ahmed also spoke about the strategic partnership between BUITEMS and UNHCR, emphasizing ICRMS’s ongoing initiatives and the learning and capacity-building opportunities available for refugee youth.

Following the introduction, Mr. Abrar Khan, Career Counsellor, led an engaging and interactive session, beginning with the question: “What is a career?” He broke down the concept by connecting it with students’ personal interests, strengths, and long-term goals. Mr. Abrar Khan introduced various personality types and helped students understand how self-awareness can guide them in choosing the right career path. The session included a self-reflection activity, where students wrote about their good and bad habits, their aspirations, and how they envision contributing to their communities. Mr. Abrar Khan offered personalized guidance based on the students’ responses.

Next, Ms. Pashtana, Career Counsellor, continued the session with a focus on educational advancement, particularly for female students. She offered practical advice and relatable examples to help students understand their next steps toward higher education. Ms. Pashtana emphasized available scholarships, online learning platforms, and confidence-building strategies through interactive exercises designed to help students identify their passions and goals.

Afterward, Mr. Nisar Ahmed returned to conclude the session. He invited students to come forward and share what they had learned. Each student expressed key takeaways from the session, reflecting on their personal growth and future ambitions. Mr. Nisar Ahmed thanked the students and school staff for their participation and support. The session ended with refreshments served to all attendees. A total of 70 students participated in the session, including 40 female and 30 male students.
