The International Center for Refugee and Migration Studies (ICRMS) successfully organized its fourth Exposure Visit Session on 30th May 2025 for students of School No. 31 from Katwai Refugee Camp, Loralai. The visit took place at the University of Loralai Multipurpose Hall, Block-II, where students and school faculty were warmly welcomed by university and ICRMS staff.
The session formally commenced with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, moderated by Mr. Nisar Ahmed, Media and Communication Associate at ICRMS. This was followed by a video presentation introducing the mission, vision, and ongoing work of ICRMS in support of refugee communities.
Dr. Khalid Khan delivered an informative and engaging session, outlining the university’s admission procedures, scholarship opportunities available to Afghan refugees and local students. He also introduced students to the university’s various departments, laboratories, and academic infrastructure, helping them envision the environment and resources they could one day access. His talk offered motivation, clarity, and valuable insights into how higher education can transform their futures.
Following this session, Prof. Dr. Adil Zaman Kasi, Pro Vice Chancellor of the University of Loralai, joined the session. He was warmly welcomed by Mr. Muhammad Kazim, Liaison Officer at ICRMS, and invited to the stage. In his address, Prof. Dr. Adil Zaman Kasi offered an encouraging message to the students, stating that they are fortunate to have access to such educational platforms. He highlighted that the University of Loralai is open and welcoming to every student, especially those from refugee communities, and urged them to pursue their ambitions with confidence and dedication. At the conclusion of the formal session, Prof. Dr. Adil Zaman Kasi and Mr. Muhammad Kazim distributed certificates among the students. As a gesture of appreciation, a commemorative shield was also presented by Mr. Kazim to the Pro Vice Chancellor for the university’s support and collaboration.
The students were then taken on a guided campus tour led by ICRMS and university staff. During the tour, they visited academic departments, labs, and student support facilities. The university staff provided detailed briefings at each stop. At the Sports Complex, students enjoyed a short recreational session of badminton, with both male and female students participating. The visit concluded with a group photo at the Admin Block with Prof. Dr. Adil Zaman Kasi. Lunch was served to the visiting group of 65 students (35 male and 30 female) before they were accompanied safely back to their school, marking a successful and inspiring exposure visit.
