First Exposure Visit of Rabia Balkhi High School & Tolo High School, Quetta To BUITEMS 2025

The International Center for Refugee and Migration Studies (ICRMS) organized the First Exposure Visit Session on April 16, 2025, for students from Rabia Balkhi High School and Tolo High School at Balochistan University of Information Technology and Management Sciences (BUITEMS), Quetta. BUITEMS and ICRMS staff warmly welcomed the students and school faculty as they gathered in the Orange Hall. The session began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, moderated by Ms. Fatima from ICRMS. This was followed by video presentations showcasing the International Center for Refugee and Migration Studies. Mr. Salar Khan, Deputy Director of Admissions and Academics at BUITEMS, then delivered an informative session highlighting the university’s admission process, available scholarships, and financial aid opportunities for Afghan refugees and nationals. A total of 100 students participated in the session, including 30 males and 70 females.

After the presentations, students embarked on a guided exposure visit across the BUITEMS campus. The visit was facilitated by Mr. Nisar Ahmed, Ms. Laraib Ayoub, Ms. Fatima Ali, and Mr. Firdos Khan from ICRMS. At the National Incubation Center (NIC), Ms. Sadia Arif Khan, Manager of Marketing & Communication, briefed the students on the startup selection process, with a special focus on opportunities for Afghan refugees. The group then visited the main library, where Mr. Mushtaq Ali Mengal, Librarian, introduced them to the available resources, including physical books and digital materials. The tour continued at BUITEMS’ Sports Complex, where Mr. Muhammad Azam, Deputy Director of Sports, provided an overview of the campus sports facilities, including the fitness gym, squash courts, swimming pool, and multipurpose sports hall.

The visit concluded with a certificate distribution ceremony to acknowledge the students’ participation, followed by light refreshments. The exposure visit provided students with valuable insights into BUITEMS’ academic environment and extracurricular offerings, making it a highly educational and memorable experience for all involved.
