ICRMS Art Exhibition: “Reflection of Home”

The International Center for Refugee and Migration Studies (ICRMS-BUITEMS), in collaboration with the Fine Arts Department at BUITEMS, organized an art exhibition titled “Reflection of Home” on December 16, 2024. The exhibition featured the creative works of 30 Fine Arts students, who explored the theme through vibrant paintings and traditional cultural attire. The event was inaugurated by Dr. Khalid Hafeez, Vice Chancellor of BUITEMS, and graced by notable figures, including Dr. Abdul Wadood Deah, Dean of FSS&H; the Chairperson of the Fine Arts Department, Mr. Meraj; and faculty members Mr. Kaleem and Mr. Wahab. Distinguished guests such as Mr. Fazil from the University of Balochistan’s Fine Arts Department, and representatives from UNHCR, including Mr. Amir Hussain Kowsar (Protection Officer) and Ms. Mahwish, also attended the event.

The exhibition was open to visitors on December 16 and 17, attracting coverage from media outlets such as BBC Pashto, SAMAA, Dunya News, BW Pashto, and Quetta Voice. Additionally, dignitaries attending the policy dialogue on December 17 visited the exhibition. During the closing ceremony, certificates were awarded to the top three artists: Barira (1st place), Farzana Ali (2nd place), and Saira (3rd place). Notably, Farzana Ali, an accomplished Hazara refugee artist, received special recognition for her work. The jury and distinguished guests highly praised the students’ creative reflections on the theme, acknowledging the event as a successful showcase of talent and cultural expression.
