The International Centre for Refugee and Migration Studies (ICRMS) is excited to announce a remarkable opportunity for dynamic and committed professionals. We are actively searching for a dedicated Research Assistant to join our team on a full-time basis.
Position Details:
Position: Research Assistant
Type: Full-Time (Contractual)
Reports to: Project Director and Research Associate
Working Hours: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Responsibilities:
As a Research Assistant at ICRMS, the incumbent will support research, administrative, and project-related functions, assisting the Research Associate and senior staff in ensuring smooth office and project operations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting with ongoing research activities at the Center and drafting reports and other project-related documentation.
- Supporting project proposal writing, concept note development, and other project-related documentation as required.
- Maintaining and organizing office records, including equipment inventory and dispatch/official correspondence logs.
- Managing data entry, documentation, and record-keeping using MS Office and other digital tools.
- Providing administrative and operational support to the Research Associate and senior staff in day-to-day tasks.
- Assisting in the coordination of project activities, meetings, and internal communications.
- Ensuring proper filing systems and documentation for easy retrieval and audit purposes.
- Supporting communication with stakeholders through professional written and verbal correspondence.
- Assisting in multitasking across research, administrative, and project support functions while adhering to deadlines.
The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, effective communication abilities, and the capacity to handle diverse responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.

Requirements:
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree (16 years of education) from HEC recognized university in a relevant field.
- At least 1-2 years of relevant experience in research, project coordination, or administrative roles, preferably in research-based organizations, NGOs, INGOs, or academic institutions.
- Demonstrated ability in basic research, report writing, documentation, and assisting in proposal writing and concept note development.
- Strong capacity to maintain office records, including equipment inventory and dispatch/official correspondence logs.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and digital tools for documentation, data entry, and record keeping.
- Ability to assist research associate and senior staff in operational, administrative, and project-related tasks.
- Good command of written and spoken English and Urdu with strong interpersonal and professional communication skills; proficiency in Pashtu, Dari, and other local/regional languages will be considered an added advantage.
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and time management skills with attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
