Dr. Bashir Ahmed

“Analyzing Gender Roles in the Prospect of Influencing Women Empowerment in the Context of Urban and Rural Afghan Refugees Settlements in Balochistan.”

Short Biography:

Dr. Bashir Ahmed completed his PhD in Sociology from University of Karachi in 2014. He has been working with different organizations since 2003. Currently he is serving with BUITMES as Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology. Dr. Bashir Ahmed has multi-Sectoral exposure. He has been working with Privates, Public and Development sectors in the thematic domain of Community Development, Social protection of local communities and Afghan Refugees, Livelihood development, Education, Public Health, and Community Volunteerism.

As an academician, he is teaching, he is Mentoring students, he is advising on career paths, degree requirements and post-graduate education. He is contributing in curricular development and innovation in teaching strategies. He has completed five research projects in different thematic areas, and he has published more than 17 research papers in different National and International Journals. Dr. Bashir Ahmed has also served as Chairperson of the Department of Sociology for three years.

His areas of Interest are Society and Culture, Social Movements, Community Mobilization and Development, Social Change, Race and Ethnicity, Health and Culture, Refugees and Migration, Gender Issues, Primary and Higher Education, and Qualitative and Quantitative Research
